Java Works French Roast

I have been enjoying this dark roast bean! Even better, I recently scored a French Press! A very nice match, French Roast in a French Press!

French roast is my husband‘s favorite. He enjoys the rich taste. Mine is the coconut macaroon as I am a flavoured coffee gal. A toasted coconut flavour would be exceptional.

Nice aroma and flavour. Good for my morning coffee.

This blend has a wonderful aroma and smooth taste that makes one think of French pastries. It goes great with sweets, croissants and toasted bagels.

I tried a few different blends from Java Works. However, this is definitely not my favorite. I have also, for the first time, started grinding my own beans with a grinder purchased from JW.
I found this coffee weak using the same measurements i would use for other blends. I feel as though I'm drinking hot water. I've tried using more of the freshly grinded beans, but I found myself using more than double the amount of other dark roast blends to try and achieve a flavor closer to the other D.R. blends. I will not be purchasing this French Roast again. And sadly to say. I wasted money on a 2lb bag of beans. My fault for ordering that size in order to save a few dollars.

Was expecting something VERY different. I have been drinking French roast coffee for decades, everything from small batch barista shops to Second Cup Paradiso Dark, and Second Cup Paradiso Dark K cups. I did not find any similarities between them and this roast. I'm picky, I know, but this was nothing like French roasts that I have had in the past. My search continues ....

Pleasantly surprised this coffee was not bitter at all. Really happy i took a chance after reading all the great reviews!

I am particular about my coffee Mon-Fri. I just want a nice simple good coffee with no foofs, frills or anything else. I have found that in this very lovely french roast. Its delicious, not too bitter or acidic, doesn't make my tummy gurgle just a nice simple good coffee.

Sometimes plain is okay too.

Still in the process of trying out different roasts from Javaworks. So far there isn't one we haven't enjoyed but this French Roast is at the top of the list and will definitely buy again. Great dark roast but without over powering. Beautiful aroma and taste to start the day.
